Our story

SO INDUSTRIE is first and foremost the story of two friends, Louis in France and Jonas in Belgium, united by a passion for clothing with a history, militaria and aviation.

Louis

“My passion began in childhood, with history. My father passed on this interest early, introducing me to militaria in its broadest sense: uniforms, equipment, aviation, and also cinema, particularly war films about the major conflicts of the twentieth century.

This interest quickly developed through model-making, building iconic Second World War aircraft as well as more historically specialised models. Alongside this, I became interested in objects from these periods and gradually developed an appreciation for pieces with a history.

I then pursued this interest through history studies, which helped me deepen my knowledge and develop a rigorous approach to analysing objects, their context and authenticity.

Over time, this passion became more focused and naturally developed into a search for pieces with meaning, a story and a strong sense of authenticity. Ultimately, tastes change over time… and I simply returned to what had inspired me from the beginning.”

Jonas

“My passion for fashion started early, inspired by my cousin, whose style always made an impression on me. Whenever we met, I was fascinated by his clothes and his world, to the point of wanting to wear them myself.

Over time, this influence made me want to explore a wide range of clothing, especially leather, a material I now wear every day. Gradually, this passion developed through putting outfits together and naturally grew to include resale, allowing me to turn this interest into a real business.”

The SO INDUSTRIE project

Through SO INDUSTRIE, we wanted to share this passion for unique, rare and meaningful pieces by selecting authentic items and focusing on the story each garment carries.

Before starting this project, we worked for several years reselling clothing and accessories. We collaborated with major resellers and stores, particularly as suppliers and experts, with our services requested to authenticate premium and luxury items.

After several years working with the same brands, we began to tire of the repetition. This encouraged us to trust ourselves and launch a project that truly suited us, with very rare, distinctive pieces that meant something to us.

Two distinct, complementary worlds

SO INDUSTRIE is more than a store. It brings together two distinct but complementary selections:

  • High-end premium gorpcore brands such as Arc’teryx and Montbell, handled by Jonas and Louis respectively. These brands offer very high-quality technical and outdoor clothing suited to modern use. We have sold several hundred pieces from each brand and developed substantial expertise, enabling us to provide 100% authentication and meet individual needs.
  • Heritage, at the heart of our project: original military pieces and high-quality reproductions from leading Japanese and American brands. This includes flight jackets – iconic pilot and bomber jackets from the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s and 1970s – and military clothing from major twentieth-century conflicts, including the Second World War and the wars in Korea, Indochina, Algeria and Vietnam. You will also find a broad selection of workwear and American sportswear, including leather, varsity and baseball jackets, as well as motorcycle jackets such as Perfectos.

The distinction between our premium and Heritage selections is essential. We have the experience and skills to distinguish authentic pieces from counterfeits in our premium selection and reproductions from originals in our Heritage selection. This allows us to offer an accurately identified, legitimate selection that meets collectors’ and enthusiasts’ expectations.

Our content creation is also inspired by our passion for cinema. We use it to tell stories around our pieces, highlight their authenticity and historical value, and offer our customers an immersive experience.

Every piece individually selected

Every SO INDUSTRIE piece is chosen carefully. Our sourcing is entirely manual, allowing us to offer competitive prices while maintaining full control over stock quality. We do not work with suppliers, so we can ensure that every item sold is of the best possible quality.

This approach takes hours of research every week, but allows us to maintain a selection of exceptional pieces, most in near-new condition, suited both to Technical Wear and premium clothing enthusiasts and to those who love garments with history in our Heritage collection.
